Episode Description

Life of the celebrated 19th-century Russian novelist who was trained as an engineer but turned to literature when he became involved in revolutionary circles. Condemned to death for his political activities, Dostoevsky was given a last-minute reprieve. After exile in Siberia, he wrote his greatest novels, including Crime and Punishment, The House of the Dead, and The Idiot.
