Episode Description

Born Lesley Hornby to working class parents, she was the girl gifted with the cute face who went on to become Twiggy, the female persona of London in the swinging Sixties and the world's first Supermodel. Discovered after her styling photos appeared in a London hair salon, Twiggy catapulted into fame with the feminine look of the decade: trademark boyish waif looks, close cropped straight hair and naturally curly eyelashes matched by a pair painted beneath her own. Today, some thirty-five years into her career, now a mother of two and twice married, her face still graces the covers of major women's magazines on both sides of the Atlantic. She is active as an animal rights supporter and breast cancer research fund-raiser.
