He was already an experienced film and TV actor when he was cast in This Boy's Life. Leonardo was only 18 years old, but more than held his own with screen powerhouses Robert DeNiro and Ellen Barkin. In 1997, when he played the lead role in the box office behemoth of all-time, Titanic, he ascended to the top of the A list, a status he continues to enjoy with lead roles in such high profile projects as Gangs of New York, The Aviator, and The Departed. These days he has been pursuing his interest in environmental conservation, writing, producing and narrating The Eleventh Hour about the planets deteriorating condition.
