Profile of the gentleman of rock'n'roll who grew up on the back streets of a working-class town in northern England. Raised on American music, he became a key part of the Hollies before joining David Crosby and Stephen Stills. He moved to America and became both a pillar and a peacemaker with Crosby, Stills, Nash (and later Young), and wrote such hits as Carrie Ann, Our House, and Marrakesh Express.
